Language, reminders and your data — all in your hands
Settings isn't a buried menu here. It's where you decide which language the app speaks to you in, when it nudges you, and what happens to your data if you decide to leave.
Arabic and English — laid out right, not just translated
Switching between Arabic and English is one tap, and the choice is remembered next time you open the app. You won't be resetting it every session.
Choose Arabic and the whole interface flips right-to-left: buttons, menus, cards, the reading order of every screen. That's the substantive difference from an app that was translated word-for-word but left its layout in English — the wrong direction makes a screen tiring to read even when the words are correct.
Numbers and dates are formatted for the language you picked, too, so reading a figure doesn't require translating it in your head first.
Interface language is independent of logging language: you can keep the interface in English and still log in Egyptian Arabic on the home screen — the two work together.
Notifications: a useful nudge, not noise
The main reminder here is simple: if a number of days pass with nothing logged, you get a notification. You choose that number — we don't pick it for you.
Logging is a habit, and habits die of forgetfulness rather than laziness. One notification at the right moment puts you back on track without the app becoming a source of pressure.
- Streak reminder: sent after the number of expense-free days you set.
- Due-date reminder: for recurring payments, a number of days before each one, set per payment.
- One switch in Settings turns notifications off entirely whenever you want, without losing any data.
Due-date reminders themselves are configured per item on the recurring payments screen. Note that notification permission belongs to the browser: once you've denied it, no website can grant it back on its own — you have to allow it from the browser's site settings, and the screen spells out those steps.
Install Flosyfeen on your home screen, no app store
Flosyfeen is a web app (a PWA). It opens straight in the browser, and from Settings you can add it to your phone's home screen in a tap — it gets its own icon and opens full-screen like any other app.
That means no updates to download, very little space taken on your device, and the same account open on your phone and your laptop. Turning notifications on is usually easier once it's been added to the home screen.
Excel: export and import
Export exists so your data isn't trapped: an .xlsx file of your expenses with date, time, category, name and amount, which you can open in Excel or Google Sheets and do whatever you like with.
Import is for people who already have months of history in a spreadsheet. You can download a ready-made template, or upload your own sheet as it is: the columns are read even when they're named differently or written in Arabic, and each row becomes an expense you review before it's saved.
The figures an export contains are the same ones on the Expenses screen — one source, a different shape.
Your data: who sees it, and how to erase it
Your data belongs to your account and is stored on Firebase infrastructure. No other user sees your expenses, and the app doesn't sell your data to anyone.
More important than that sentence: leaving is as easy as arriving. Settings has a button to clear your data — last month only, or everything — and another to delete the account permanently. Deletion is immediate and final, and it isn't hidden behind a conversation with support.
- We never ask for your online-banking username, password, card number or OTP.
- There is no bank-account linking and no automatic transaction pulling.
- Clear one month of data or all of it, from the same screen.
- Delete your account permanently at any time, with no extra hoops.
- Sign out of a device normally without losing your data.
What Settings does not do
So the picture is complete:
- It can't grant notification permission from inside the app if the browser has denied it — that's set in browser settings.
- There's no bank-account connection and no automatic import of transactions.
- Clearing data is permanent: there's no recycle bin to restore from.
- Flosyfeen is not a bank or a payment wallet, so there are no payment or transfer settings here.
- The Excel section is marked "Coming soon" right now, so export and import aren't live yet.
Questions about settings and privacy
Can I change the language at any time?
Yes, from Settings in one tap, and the choice is saved. Choosing Arabic switches the whole interface to right-to-left.
My notifications aren't arriving — what do I do?
Most often the browser has notification permission denied. Allow notifications for the site in your browser's site settings, then turn the switch back on in Settings.
Can I export my expenses to an Excel file?
The Excel section is currently marked "Coming soon" in the app. Once enabled it exports an .xlsx of your expenses with date, category and amount.
Can I clear my data without deleting my account?
Yes. You can clear last month's data only, or all of it, and keep the account itself.
If I delete my account, what happens to my data?
It's erased. Deletion is immediate and final with no recovery afterwards, so take a copy of anything important first.
